From the President

Welcome to the very first edition of the Crestline Neighborhood Association newsletter! This has been a long time coming, and I am excited to finally have a way to keep our neighbors connected and informed between meetings. Mark your calendars for the Crestline Park Groove Music Festival on May 9th — we have our full lineup: Huck & Lilly, Rollin' in the Hay, and the Slacker Bees. It is going to be a great time for the whole community. More details coming soon. As always, thank you for being part of what makes Crestline a wonderful place to live. I look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on April 23rd at Hope Community Church. — Todd Russell, President

Meeting Recap

The Crestline Neighborhood Association met on March 26th with 33 residents attending. India Bailey from Councilor Hunter Williams' office reported that privacy fences are being installed along the Shades Creek Greenway Trail and urged patience on a completion date. Neighbors raised concerns about park maintenance, potholes on Strathmore and Concord, and code enforcement on overgrown properties. Officer Burney from the East Precinct fielded questions about a reported incident on Swallow Lane near Hope Community Church. St. Peter's Anglican Church presented information regarding their upcoming application to the Birmingham Subdivision Committee on April 22nd concerning sidewalk and drainage requirements along Hagood Street, and the neighborhood discussed the contentious matter at length. Members unanimously approved a liquor license application for Pickle & Pour, a new pickleball facility with restaurant and bar services at 7001 Crestwood Blvd, and voted 29-0 to support Caroline Bundy's fence variance request to maintain a 6-foot fence on her corner lot property. The meeting also covered the Crestline Park Groove Music Festival on May 9th, the McElwain Cemetery cleanup, and ongoing needs for volunteers to water newly planted park trees.
